Real Voice, Real Change

At Iceni Academy, student leadership is an integral part of our continued development and improvement. We firmly believe that students should play an active role in shaping their academy, which is why our Student Leadership Team works closely with academy leaders to influence decision-making and drive meaningful change.

Guided by our motto, “Real Voice, Real Change”, the Student Leadership Team ensures that the views, ideas and aspirations of our students are heard and acted upon.

Leadership Structure

Our Student Leadership Team is made up of a wide range of student representatives who are committed to making a positive difference across the academy. The team includes:

  • 2 Student Principals, elected by the student body following a rigorous application and interview process.
  • 2 Deputy Student Principals.
  • A team of Senior Prefects from Year 11.
  • Heads of Year representing each year group.
  • House Captains who lead and promote participation within our house system.

Making a Difference

The Student Leadership Team meets on a fortnightly basis to discuss academy life, gather student feedback and identify opportunities for improvement. These meetings provide students with a genuine platform to influence change and help shape the future of Iceni Academy.

In recent years, our student leaders have played a key role in a number of significant developments, including:

  • Contributing to the development of a new academy uniform.
  • Securing funding to improve and enhance the academy site, creating an environment that students can be proud of.
  • Supporting the development of our rewards system to better recognise student achievement.
  • Helping to strengthen and grow our house system, increasing opportunities for participation, competition and community spirit.

Developing Future Leaders

Being part of the Student Leadership Team provides students with valuable opportunities to develop leadership, communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills. These experiences help prepare students for future education, employment and life beyond Iceni Academy.

Our student leaders are passionate ambassadors for the academy and demonstrate the values of Work Hard, Aim High, Be Kind every day. Through their dedication and commitment, they continue to make a real difference to the Iceni community.
