We believe that home learning can be extremely important to support the progress that our students make in their lessons. Below is the approximate maximum expectation for home much homework each student could expect to receive per subject, per fortnight. This will be down to the teachers’ professional judgement for any class at any time.
Homework TimetableIn maths (all years) and English (at Key Stage 3), we use Sparx Maths and Sparx Reader. These are fantastic online platforms. Please speak to your child’s maths or English teacher directly if your child is struggling to access Sparx.
In September 2024, we launched Seneca as our main home learning platform for all students. We are really excited about the difference this will make to our students, as the platform has a good evidence base for helping students who regularly use it remember more over time.
In addition, Key Stage Four students all have access to GCSEPod. If they have not logged in before, they should click ‘login’ and then ‘New Here?’. They will be able to select a username (visible to Academy staff), a password and also enter their email address for a password reminder. Pods can be watched online or downloaded over WiFi to watch another time.
